(Birmingham News) A water balloon fight turned into a gun fight at a Birmingham park Friday afternoon.
Two victims — both senior girls who attend Huffman High School — were injured when the gunfire erupted about 2:35 p.m. at Tom Bradford Park on Edwards Lake Road. A third person was injured by glass.
“Unfortunately, what started off pleasant turned into shots being fired and a couple of people being grazed by bullets,” said Birmingham police spokesman Lt. Sean Edwards.
He said the injuries aren’t life threatening. One victim was grazed in the eye, and another shot in the buttocks.
